Brett (BD) Allen is an award-winning producer and director based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the founder of UwebTV Productions. With over 15 years of production experience, BD has carved a unique path through the film and media industry by combining his love of storytelling, music, visual art, and performance into dynamic, emotionally resonant content.

A self-taught filmmaker and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, BD began his media career interning with WQED’s OnQ magazine show and Sheridan Broadcasting, where he later produced national talk radio programs such as The White House Report and Hollywood Live. His professional journey has since expanded into television and film, with work appearing across platforms like Comcast, KDKA, and The Pittsburgh Cable Network.

As the creative force behind UwebTV, BD has directed and produced a wide range of projects including documentaries, comedy specials, music videos, commercials, and cultural event coverage. His storytelling approach is defined by an unconventional lens—one that centers soulful connections, emotional depth, and striking visual composition. Whether through the subtlety of a background scene or the drama of a wide-angle lens, BD aims to communicate stories that resonate instantly and lastingly.

BD’s directorial achievements include the thriller Con (2013), the romantic suspense Love Runs Deep (2017), and the comedy feature UnRelated (2018). His work earned him a Telly Award for Directing, underscoring his creative excellence and impact in visual storytelling. Most recently, he directed The Sabbatical, a 30-minute commissioned documentary for The Poise Foundation, spotlighting the personal journeys of faith leaders in Allegheny County.

Currently, Brett is developing his first made-for-TV Christmas feature and exploring new opportunities in scripted television. Through all his work—whether mentoring youth, leading production teams, or writing original narratives—BD Allen remains driven by one passion: to tell stories that connect, inspire, and elevate the human experience.
